UX and data-visualisation for the plug-in electric hybrid (PHEV) distance calculator for this iconic British brand with Spark44 (acquired by Accenture). Distance calculators are key to purchase decisions, yet many factors, such as driving style and 'pre-conditioning', can alter the total distance available on a full charge. Managing expectations is key to preventing post-sale disappointment. This piece of work was as much about educating an already smart audience in an honest yet optimistic way, as well as data-visualising a beautiful, clear and compelling calculator aligned to the brand languages and using the brand toolkits.
I undertook competitor research, interviewed JLR engineers on what different factors affect distance, analysed web stat data for entry and exit from the current EV distance calculator and ensured my final three design options were both compatible and optimised where they were to fit within the already deployed JLR brand sites using Spark44's in house design tool of choice, Sketch.
The second project I worked on for JLR was a proposed order tracking flow. This was designed with a nod to future possibilities as well as being feasible at the time of the project.
